Tate Modern
Tate Modern: Exhibition on Picasso’s Theatre - Tate Modern
Between December 1, 2025 and April 12, 2026, contemporary artist Wu Tsang and curator Enrique Fuenteblanca will transform the Tate Modern into a living theater to celebrate the centenary of ‘The Three Dancers’. This unique exhibition presents over 45 works by Picasso, including some that have never been exhibited in the United Kingdom. These include paintings, sculptures, and textiles that reveal the influence of dancers, entertainers, and bullfighters on his art. Picasso built a renowned and outsider artist’s image, a myth closely linked to the contemporary notion of ‘performativity’. Explore how he used his works to play different roles throughout his life. This exhibition is a fascinating invitation to discover the artist from an unprecedented angle, blending history and artistic performance.
