In the Manner of Bosch

Hieronymus Bosch, more than five centuries after his death, continues to inspire. The Fundación Juan March presents a unique exhibition, “A la manera del Bosco,” which explores the persistence of his delirious imagination at the heart of contemporary art. Two paintings from the 16th century, “The Sky” and “Hell,” attributed to a disciple, invite dialogue with works by contemporary creators, artists using artificial intelligence and digital tools. The exhibition reveals a surprising continuity: André Breton already saw in Bosch’s work a precursor to surrealism. Fantastic creatures, dreamlike scenes, and mysterious symbols blend with futuristic visions, proving that Bosch’s visual language is as relevant today as it was in his time.
