Echoes of Romantic Fashion

In 2026, the Museo del Romanticismo in Madrid will present ‘Echos of Romantic Fashion’, a fascinating exhibition exploring the legacy of the Romantic style through the eyes of contemporary designers. Talents such as Cristóbal Balenciaga, Pedro Rodríguez, and David Delfín reinterpret the iconic silhouettes of the 19th century – crinoline, voluminous shapes, luxurious fabrics – in bold creations. The exhibition, curated by the Fundació Antoni de Montpalau, sheds light on the persistence of these aesthetic codes in contemporary Spanish fashion. Pieces from collections, costumes, and accessories dialogue with the museum’s original works, creating a striking visual and temporal dialogue.
