From 2026 to 2026, the Casa de América will present a collection of 50 sculptures, the result of a collaboration between the Colección ABANCA and Casa de América. This exhibition, “Space and Time,” offers a comprehensive overview of modern and contemporary sculpture, from Picasso to Oteiza, including Chillida. It explores the evolution of this three-dimensional art form, from its roots in the 19th century to its conceptual experiments. The exhibition highlights the dialogue between sculpture and other art forms, particularly painting, through works by artists such as Julio González and Pablo Picasso. Thanks to the digitalization of the sculptures, the public can explore them in 3D. The exhibition, curated by Diego Cascón, is a unique opportunity to see major pieces brought together that are usually dispersed, and to understand how sculpture has shaped our perception of space. Free admission.
