Wunderkammer

In 2026, Spanish artist Ana Juan presents ‘Wunderkammer’, a monumental installation at the CentroCentro, Madrid. This contemporary marvel chamber, composed of over 100 graphite drawings on paper, invites an exploration of an imaginary universe populated by fantastical creatures and dreamlike figures. Inspired by the 16th-century wunderkammern, the work presents itself as a “visual fable” where chaos and history meet. The artworks, created in a classical style, draw inspiration from folk tales and legends, exploring universal themes such as truth, death, and power. The exhibition, designed as a poetic and mysterious cabinet of curiosities, invites meditative contemplation and reflection on the human condition. It aims to be a space for thought and creative process, where the artist’s imagination is manifested through striking images. Admission is free and the exhibition will be open from January 29th to May 3rd, 2026.
