Buddhist and Hindu sculptures, rare Chinese, Korean, and Japanese ceramics – a collection of 70 major works assembled between 1950 and 1970 by John D. Rockefeller 3rd and his wife, testifies to 70 years of commitment by Asia Society. This exhibition, open from March 18, 2026, to January 3, 2027, presents masterpieces covering two millennia of Asian art, from 10th-century Shiva sculptures to Ming Dynasty Chinese vases. Initially designed to illustrate the transformative power of faith and the role of international trade, this unique collection, inherited to Asia Society in 1979, offers a window into the convictions of the Rockefellers and their vision of an intercultural dialogue strengthened by art. The exhibition, co-organized by the American Federation of the Arts, is a rare opportunity to appreciate the exceptional quality of this collection outside its New York setting. The admission price is $12.
