In 2026, the Wallach Art Gallery presents *Skins, Not Our Own*, a fascinating exploration of skin as an interface between the individual and the other. The exhibition, the result of a collaboration between Heidi Bucher, Rebecca Horn and Kimsooja, highlights stripped architectures, prosthetic extensions and hair strands, transforming skin into an autonomous material. Inspired by Luce Irigaray, the work invites a reflection on ‘pure skins, but not our own’ and on the possibility of alternative subjectivities. The exhibition relies on a collection of indigenous cultural objects, including Navajo blankets, Mohawk cradleboards and Dakota Mace works, juxtaposing contemporary artists with objects from the past. Among the works presented are photographs by Wendy Red Star contextualizing objects from the Denver Art Museum collection, as well as innovative works such as *The Peacemaker Returns* by Skawennati, which revisits the history of the Haudenosaunee. This exhibition, accessible for free, is a poignant meditation on identity, memory and the relationship between art and the body. It takes place from March 28th to April 12th, 2026.
