From April 9th to 12th, 2026, the Contemporary Art Fund will present an exceptional exhibition at the Art Paris fair at the Grand Palais. This year, the exhibition focuses on the theme of “repair,” spearheaded by Alexia Fabre, curator of heritage. When one thinks of the Orientalist artists of the 1920s-50s, one often imagines exotic and idealized landscapes. However, this exhibition challenges these works, bringing them closer to those of African, Caribbean, or South American artists who also explored colonization from a different angle. Contemporary artists of rooted or migrant backgrounds bring their voice to this reflection, deploying strategies of identity affirmation and resilience. Among the works presented, some date back even before 1915, offering a critical perspective on the colonial heritage of the 20th century. This exhibition is a true journey through time, where past and present intertwine to reflect on the notion of repair. Visitors will discover restored paintings, graphic works digitized in high definition, and a digital brochure bringing together information about each artist. A conference is also planned for April 10th to delve deeper into this theme.
