Brion Gysin. The Last Museum

Brion Gysin spent his life blurring the lines between painting, writing, and performance. A leading figure of the Beat Generation and a close collaborator of William Burroughs, he revolutionized creation with his “cut-up” technique and his famous Dreamachine, designed to be viewed with closed eyes. The Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris is finally dedicating a major retrospective to this elusive creator, the first historical one in the capital. His calligraphic manuscripts, desert landscapes, and magnetic experiments reveal a visionary mind that transformed our relationship to language and image.
