The Great Ages - Musée de l'Homme
In April 2026, the Musée de l’Homme invites to a novel reflection on longevity with “The Great Ages.” The exhibition, the result of a collaboration between biodemographer Samuel Pavard and photographer artist Nikos Aliagas, explores old age in all its facets: biological, social, and demographic. Striking portraits captured by Aliagas testify to the dignity and richness of past lives, far from the representations often stigmatized. The exhibition confronts the rigor of Pavard’s science with the poetic observations of aging, offering a new perspective on the place of longevity in human history. It questions our relationship to time, memory, and intergenerational solidarity, highlighting the challenges associated with aging populations and their impact on our society. A launch conference and guided tours are offered to enrich this unique experience. The exhibition is open from April 8, 2026 to January 3, 2027.
