From April 3rd to July 19th, 2026, the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris offers a first in France with the exhibition ‘Estonian Realities’. Three female artists from different eras – Olga Terri (1916-2011), Anu Põder (1947-2013) and Kris Lemsalu (born 1985) – shed light on the cultural richness of Estonia. Each work explores the human body from unique angles: fragmented, transformed, or exuberant. Anu Põder, a central artist, uses everyday materials to denounce Soviet pressures and celebrate Estonian independence. Olga Terri captures post-war melancholy with dark portraits, while Kris Lemsalu imagines a burlesque universe blending pantheism and social critique. This unique exhibition breaks the silence on an unknown artistic scene, offering a fascinating journey through the history of a country in constant transformation.
