In April 2026, the James Baldwin Media Library invites you to a poignant look at the migration crisis in northern France. The exhibition, the result of the work of photojournalist Sameer Al-Doumy, recipient of the CICR’s Golden Visa for Humanitarian Work, sheds light on the journeys of people fleeing war and persecution. Al-Doumy, a direct witness to these dramas, captures crucial moments along the beaches of Calais, where hope and despair coexist. The exhibition, presented in collaboration with the CICR, offers a moving immersion into a complex and often unknown reality. It is based on the reportage “The Roads of Death,” which documents attempted crossings of the English Channel and the living conditions of refugees. The exhibition is free and accessible from April 8th to April 30th, 2026. An opening reception will take place on April 3rd.
