Forty years after its beginnings, Roman artist Alfredo Zelli presents a retrospective exhibition that invites reflection on identity and perception. The title, inspired by a verse by Dante, suggests an exploration of the multitude of forms and beings. Through more than forty works, the journey reveals a pictorial research where figures seem to emerge from the material, between abstraction and figuration. Zelli’s canvases play with vibrant colors and textures, creating compositions that challenge the gaze. Each painting becomes a space where the viewer is called to mentally recompose fragmented identities. This free exhibition at the Mattatoio testifies to a coherent artistic journey that questions our relationship to the image and representation, in a contemporary Rome constantly in mutation.
