In Focus: Susan Vecsey

In 2020, Jonathan Goodman of Whitehot Magazine lauded Susan Vecsey’s work at Berry Campbell Gallery as “virtuoso painting,” a testament to her meticulous process. This fall, the gallery presents "In Focus: Susan Vecsey," showcasing fifteen new oil paintings exploring luminous nocturnes inspired by eastern Long Island's landscapes – a series that builds upon Vecsey’s established exploration of nature-derived imagery and lyrical themes. Her technique, beginning with plein air sketches and culminating in layered pours, generates ethereal abstractions that evoke the sublime. Having previously exhibited at the Greenville County Museum and with solo shows across the US, Vecsey's work is gaining considerable recognition. This focused exhibition offers a rare opportunity to witness her distinctive approach firsthand. The show runs from September 10th through October 24th. Free admission.
