Allison Katz. Outta the Bag

Twenty years after earning her MFA at Columbia University, artist Allison Katz returns to New York with ‘Outta the Bag,’ her first solo exhibition at Hauser & Wirth. This exhibition is a poignant testament to her artistic journey, intimately linked to the city that shaped her approach. Katz, originally from Montreal and based in London, spent seven crucial years in New York, during which she developed her distinctive style, characterized by dreamlike scenes and displaced objects. The exhibition presents a selection of recent works, exploring themes of memory, identity, and the relationship between the object and the image.
