Julian Schnabel delves into the heart of Italy through his iconic trees. The exhibition, presented by Pace Gallery, marks a new chapter in the artist’s work, exploring a deep relationship with the country through two of his most important series. Drawings of maps and paintings on plates, centered on the umbrella pine (Pinus pinea), testify to his interest in the landscapes of Rome and the Italian coast. The work draws inspiration particularly from the groves around his home in Ansedonia. This exhibition, which runs from May to August 2026, is a unique opportunity to observe Schnabel’s evolution and his fascination with nature and Italian culture. It is a visual and emotional exploration of a lasting bond between the artist and the country he so loved. The exhibition is free.
