Lindsay Adams: Soil

In April 2026, Sean Kelly Gallery in New York will present Lindsay Adams’s second exhibition, ‘SOIL’. The artist explores a radical approach to painting, using black not as absence, but as fertile soil. Adams presents works where color, gesture, and form emerge from a dark ground, a bold approach that challenges the tradition of color and composition. This exhibition marks the artist’s solo debut with the gallery. Adams, already recognized for her work exploring the limits of painting, builds upon a deep investigation of the relationship between light and darkness. ‘SOIL’ is an invitation to contemplate the power of black and its essential role in contemporary artistic creation.
