Lucia Laguna: Apenas meus cabelos são brancos… [Only my hair is white…]

In 2026, the Lelong Gallery in New York will host the first solo exhibition of Brazilian painter Lucia Laguna in the United States. This exhibition, titled “Apenas meus cabelos são brancos…,” marks a turning point in her work, exploring the tension between the urban architecture and the lush nature of Rio de Janeiro. Laguna presents previously unseen paintings from the “Pequenos formatos” and “Paisagem” series, characterized by vibrant palettes and bold juxtapositions. The work reflects a new phase of her creation, born from her transition from a suburban garden to a dense apartment, influencing the way she represents landscapes.
