Meet Me Underwater

Diagnosed with autism in 2024, artist Leigh Blanchard uses her personal experience to create a poignant and complex body of work. “Meet Me Underwater” is a solo exhibition of photographs and mixed media, where she explores zones of comfort and discomfort with a rare sensitivity. Blanchard combines photographic techniques with textile elements such as lace and embroidery, generating initially soft and romantic compositions that, upon closer inspection, reveal tensions and anxieties. The exhibition is an intimate exploration of self-perception and the diagnostic process. It is the result of a deeply personal and engaging artistic endeavor.
