Barbara Takenaga challenges our visual references at the DC Moore Gallery starting March 1, 2026. Her canvases function as mirages: the motif shifts and metamorphoses according to your position in space. Between surgical precision and random paint drips, the artist composes universes with double readings, oscillating between the infinitely large of the cosmos and the infinitely small of microscopic organisms. The eye navigates in a chromatic explosion where neon green and turquoise coexist with celestial or blazing backgrounds. To structure this vibrant chaos, a network of bright red lines channels the energy of the forms. Inspired by both market mushrooms and traditional kimono patterns, these abstract compositions defy all classical perspective until May 2, 2026. A rare optical experience that reinvents our way of looking at a painting.
