Tournament

In 2026, the Island Gallery in New York will present ‘Tournament’, an exhibition exploring the dynamics of competition and play through a diverse range of works. Inspired by the 1939-40 Golden Gate International Exposition, this presentation highlights drawings and sculptures by artist Kai Jenrette. The exhibition aligns with world expositions, such as that in San Diego, which transformed artificial islands into venues for celebrating innovation and art. The work, designed to question the social and formal structures of games, draws inspiration from the spectacular architecture of Treasure Island, a temporary creation on the river, famous for its nighttime illuminations. A unique opportunity to appreciate contemporary art in a fascinating architectural context. The exhibition is open from April 17th to May 30th, 2026.
