Hurvin Anderson - Tate Britain
In 2026, the work of Hurvin Anderson, an iconic figure in contemporary art, takes on a new dimension at Tate Britain. This exhibition, bringing together around 80 paintings from his career, explores with a unique sensitivity the themes of identity, memory and diaspora, through landscapes, interiors and scenes of life. The artist, born in Birmingham and marked by his travels between the United Kingdom and Jamaica, creates ambiguous spaces where figuration and abstraction, vibrant colors and complex textures blend. The exhibition highlights his artistic evolution, from his early works to more recent paintings, including the monumental work ‘Passenger Opportunity’ inspired by a Jamaican mural. The event is free and runs from March 26th to August 23rd, 2026. Anderson, whose work has been praised with the Turner Prize, offers an immersive journey into the heart of his universe, testifying to a singular vision and a deep exploration of cultural and family ties.
