In 2026, Tate Modern presents a major retrospective of the work of Tracey Emin, exploring 40 years of her artistic career. The exhibition, titled ‘A Second Life’, celebrates the trajectory of this iconic figure in contemporary art, marked by an uncompromising exploration of intimacy, pain and resilience. Key works such as ‘My Bed’ stand alongside recent creations, testifying to the continuity of her confessional approach. The exhibition, designed in collaboration with the artist, reveals the roots of her work in Margate, through fundamental works such as ‘Tracey Emin CV’ and ‘Why I Never Became a Dancer’, revealing the evolution of her artistic voice. The exhibition brings together over 90 works, including paintings, videos and sculptures, offering an intimate glimpse into the life and work of this influential artist.
