Weven, borduren, sublimeren. De ambachten van de mode

In december 2025, the Musée de la Mode in Paris opens a new chapter by dedicating a major exhibition to the gestures that give rise to a garment: weaving, embroidery, embellishment, the meticulousness of workshops. Pieces from its rich collections, from the 18th century to today, reveal how hands, tools and materials transform a simple fabric into an object of desire. Between historical dresses, details of spectacular embroideries and contemporary creations, the route highlights those who work in the shadows of the catwalks. Presented at the Palais Galliera from December 13, 2025, to October 18, 2026, this exhibition is aimed as much at fashion enthusiasts as at curious people who like to understand what there is "behind" a garment.
