De Humanistische Parijs

In 2026, to mark the bicentenary of photography, La Galerie Rouge presents an immersion into humanist Paris. This collective exhibition celebrates a major post-war photographic current, often perceived as naive, but which nonetheless brought together iconic figures such as Boubat, Charbonnier and Doisneau. The works presented offer an intimate look at the capital – its popular neighborhoods, its inhabitants and its street scenes captured between 1945 and the 80s. More than a simple retrospective, the exhibition sheds light on documentary, social and poetic visions, revealing a richness often overlooked in French photography. It explores how these photographers shaped our perception of Paris, testifying to a deep commitment to truth and the beauty of everyday life.
