Starting in 2024, the Élysée Palace offers an unprecedented access to the heart of the French Republic. From April 28 to June 27, 2026, a unique exhibition explores the titles of honor awarded to the Presidents of the Republic, a rich collection in symbols and history. In collaboration with the Legion of Honour and Orders of Chivalry museum, this presentation reveals nearly forty objects and archival documents, tracing the origin and significance of these distinctions. The exhibition plunges into a universe of religious distinctions, such as those of canon lawyers or domain protectors, dating back to Louis XIII. It sheds light on the institutional role of the head of state and the legacy of these titles, testifying to a long tradition of recognition. A rare opportunity to understand the mechanisms of French republican life. Admission is free.
