The Clothes of Armand and La Princesse Coquette - Bibliothèque André Malraux
In May and June 2026, the André Malraux Library invites you to an unprecedented exploration of the relationship with fashion through two iconic children’s albums. The exhibition highlights the original illustrations from “Armand and the Stories of Clothes” by Esmé Planchon and Héloïse Solt, and “The Petulant Princess” by Christine Naumann-Villemin and Marianne Barcilon. The exhibition questions the impact of clothing on our lives and our choices, particularly through the idea of the princess who must adapt her outfits to the weather. This initiative, in echo to a meeting with author Esmé Planchon, proposes a playful and accessible reflection on the culture of dress. The exhibition is free and is part of a cultural programming focused on childhood and artistic discovery. It takes place within the prestigious Jacquemart-André museum, known for its exceptional private art collection.
