The Fabric of Dreams, Textile Creation

Born from a collaboration between the International Surrealist Centre and the Halle Saint Pierre, the exhibition “The Fabric of Dreams” presents a collection of over 300 previously unseen textile artworks. Created by 36 artists from art brut, surrealism, and singular art, these bold creations explore the potential of textiles beyond their utilitarian function. From complex weaves to sculptural installations, the artworks draw inspiration from recycled materials and traditional craftsmanship, from macramé to lace. The exhibition, open until July 2026, highlights the textile’s ability to express emotions and ideas, questioning the boundary between art and craft. It offers a fascinating dialogue between ancestral techniques and contemporary experiments. The exhibition is open to the public daily from 11am to 6pm, except January 1st, May 1st, July 14th, August 15th, and December 25th.
