Tyler Mitchell — "Wish This Was Real" at the MEP

In 2018, Tyler Mitchell became the first black photographer to shoot the cover of Vogue, marking a turning point in fashion history. Today, this 30-year-old photographer has established himself as one of the most powerful voices of his generation. The European House of Photography hosts his first solo exhibition in France, a retrospective of ten years of creation. Mitchell transforms the ordinary into visual poetry: families in Georgia, groups of friends, scenes from everyday life become hymns to freedom and self-determination. His work dialogues with the masters of art history—Seurat in particular—while reinventing the modern portrait through a black and liberating aesthetic.
