New Woman, New Vision: Women Photographers of the Bauhaus

In 2026, the Museum für Fotografie will reveal a treasure: 300 photographs from the Bauhaus archives, highlighting the crucial role of women photographers within this revolutionary school. These pioneers, including contemporary artists Kalinka Gieseler, Caroline Kynast, and Sinta Werner, redefined photography as an artistic and social instrument, exploring unprecedented perspectives and challenging the conventions of the time. The exhibition, the result of in-depth research, offers a new perspective on their ‘New Vision’ – a radical approach to composition and representation. This project, the first to explore the considerable impact of these female figures, rehabilitates talents long ignored and offers a fresh perspective on the history of photography. The exhibition is open from April 17th to October 4th, 2026.
