Dietmar Werchan, a retired pharmacist born in 1941, transforms the ordinary into extraordinary by giving new life to the waste products of our society. For years, this singular artist has collected fragments of everyday life to create assemblages where humor and poetry coexist. His creations, presented at the a.i.p.galerie Berlin from March 28th to May 2nd, 2026, subvert the initial function of abandoned objects to ironically question our consumption habits. By assembling these discarded materials, he reveals an unsuspected beauty where only waste was seen. Each work becomes the story of a second chance, proving that creativity has no limits when it takes hold of the banal. This series of unexpected compositions celebrates an alchemy of recovery where the trivial gains noble status through a mischievous and engaged gaze.
  • Poetic and ironic transformation of found objects
  • Reflection on overconsumption and the life cycle of objects
