Ragnar Axelsson has been immortalizing the extremes of the High North for forty years, but here the four-legged companions take center stage. Through eighteen black and white photographs of rare intensity, the Icelandic photographer pays homage to the Greenland sled dogs. These animals, pillars of survival in extreme environments, share a fusioned relationship with the Inuit hunters. Their portraits reveal unwavering strength and loyalty in a landscape that fades under the effects of climate change. The exhibition testifies to the fragility of an ancestral culture where man and animal are one in facing the glaciers. The Felleshus of the Nordic Embassies will host these poignant visual stories from January 27th to April 12th, 2026. It’s a meeting with Arctic resilience that reminds us of the urgency of protecting these millennial traditions.
