400,000 Years of History: From Prehistory to the 21st Century
Musée d'Aquitaine
🍃
From the earliest ancestors of man to the challenges of the XXIst century, the Musée d'Aquitaine presents a monumental human fresco. This recently reimagined permanent collection highlights millennia of regional transformations, where prehistoric bifaces coexist with vestiges of ancient and medieval cities. The route distinguishes itself by its desire to confront narratives often kept silent, particularly through a major space dedicated to transatlantic slave trade and Bordeaux's colonial past. Thanks to dynamic museography combining rare archives, archaeological objects, and interactive installations, the narrative becomes vivid and accessible. Educational workshops complement this experience to offer families a direct and stimulating reading of our shared heritage. A unique opportunity to grasp how global exchanges shaped the identity of a territory, to see from January 25, 2026 to January 16, 2027.
