American Identities: David Levinthal & Chicano Prints
Amstel
đ
David Levinthal uses plastic figurines and miniature sets to deconstruct major founding myths, from the American West to World War II. At the H'ART Museum, his unsettling photographs engage in a novel conversation with a selection of chicano etchings. While one plays on illusion to question collective memory, the others manipulate graphic design as a weapon of resistance and cultural affirmation. This face-to-face between manufactured imagery on one side and Mexican-American social realities on the other offers a striking look at the construction of national narratives. Itâs a rare opportunity to observe how art challenges stereotypes with a biting irony or a frontal sincerity. This event takes place from February 13th to September 6th, 2026, transforming the Amstelâs galleries into a genuine laboratory of reflection on representation.
