The 16th Arrondissement in 1970: Exhibition

In February 1976, the Trocadéro Library opened its doors for the first time. Fifty years later, the Germaine Tillion Library pays homage to this period through twenty striking photographs. Drawn from the “C’était Paris” collection of the Paris Historical City Library, these images capture the effervescence and face of the neighborhood in 1970. This visual journey offers a precious testimony on a transitionary era, revealing scenes of life and urban landscapes frozen by the lens. These rarely-displayed photographic archives allow for comparison between the present cityscape with the memories of half a century past.
