Georges Perec: Archives of an Childhood

In 1936, one of the most singular French literary architects was born. To celebrate his 90th birthday, a selection of administrative and intimate documents sheds light on the roots of Georges Perec’s genius. The exhibition gathers fragile traces that shaped the identity of this child marked by absence and history. These pieces reveal how the author drew upon his fragmented memories to build his universe, from his first school reports to civil registry documents. This journey highlights the fragility of a life turned upside down by war, offering an unprecedented key to understanding a man who has never ceased to play with words to fill the silences of the past. The event takes place in the reception hall of the Paris Archives, from February 21st to May 22nd, 2026.
