Hyperrealism. This is not a body
Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec
🍃
Starting February 26, 2026, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec will immerse visitors in works that blur the line between flesh and resin. These creations, signed by international master artists, mimic skin, pores, and minute anatomical details with surgical precision, provoking a fascinating sense of strangeness. Silicone and fiberglass animate themselves to give birth to disturbingly realistic human figures, where each wrinkle and gaze seems inhabited by a silent life. This major retrospective traces the evolution of bodily representation over fifty years of technical and artistic creation. A unique opportunity to confront these double representations of ourselves, immobile yet screaming with realism, until October 12, 2026.
