Intrepid Museum

An aircraft carrier from World War II transformed into a museum: the USS Intrepid has survived intense battles, the Cold War and the Vietnam War to house today treasures of aviation and space exploration. Walk across its four-acre deck bordered by mythical airplanes such as the F-14 Tomcat from Top Gun, the A-12 Blackbird spy plane, and the Concorde supersonic record holder of the Atlantic. Dive into the belly of the nuclear submarine USS Growler, narrow and oppressive, and get close to the NASA pioneer shuttle Enterprise. With flight simulators, 4D films and restored crew quarters, this living place tells the story of human innovation for all ages. Allow 3-4 hours for the essentials, ideal for families.
