On August 25th, 1944, after six days of popular uprising, Paris finally regained its freedom. This memorial exhibition offers a vibrant tribute to the fighters of the shadows and soldiers who braved the occupation. Through an impressive collection of 300 original items — uniforms, photographs and videos from the time — history takes shape under a deeply human angle. One follows the intertwined trajectories of Jean Moulin and General Leclerc, pillars of liberation, while also immersing themselves in the everyday lives of ordinary Parisians who became heroes. The access includes permanent collections as well as temporary exhibitions for a complete vision of this pivotal period. The highlight of the visit is the descent into an old passive defense bunker, a silent witness to the decisions that changed history's course. A crucial stop for understanding the identity of the capital.
