On Korean Literature "The Power of Speaking"

1945 marked a radical turning point for the Korean peninsula, finally releasing a long-suppressed voice. The Korean Cultural Center retraces this intellectual saga through the major currents that have nourished contemporary literature in the country. From the first post-independence writings to the most recent societal reflections, the exhibition illustrates how authors have seized language to reconstruct a national and individual identity. We observe the metamorphosis of narratives once marked by collective history towards more intimate and universal themes. This event offers a unique reading of the Korean soul, far beyond the usual successes of pop culture.
