Szelit Cheung transforms absence into a vibrant sensory experience. Through his oils on linen and wood, the artist based between Hong Kong and Melbourne captures how light brushes across minimalist surfaces to sculpt meditative spaces. His compositions are born from the meticulous study of cardboard mock-ups, where each ray of sunlight defines an invisible volume. Here, the nuances of brown, yellow, and copper red revive the cinematic imagination of New York, creating an intimate dialogue between the viewer and the void. The eye constantly oscillates between the flatness of the canvas and a palpable architectural depth. This singular artistic proposition unfolds at the Fou Gallery from March 4th to April 25th, 2026. A rare opportunity to feel the silent presence of the spaces around us.
