Sanou Oumar and Matt Paweski confront their visions from March 1st to April 26th, 2026, at the Gordon Robichaux gallery. Inspired by the philosophy of designer Giovanni Gariboldi, this artistic dialogue questions the tenuous boundary between the everyday object and the work of art. Oumar’s drawings are striking for their surgical precision: complex visual systems where every line and every color creates a hypnotic rhythm, recalling traditional craftsmanship. In echo, Paweski’s sculptures transform the quest for functionality into a purified aesthetic search. Here, the artisan’s gesture meets contemporary abstraction to prove that a useful object can become a source of wonder. This encounter between the meticulous line on paper and the three-dimensional volume highlights the vitality of a design thoughtfully considered, offering a fresh perspective on geometric rigor and the beauty of the everyday.
