An Intimacy with Strangers

In March 2026, KINDL – Zentrum für zeitgenössische Kunst will present ‘An Intimacy with Strangers’, an exhibition exploring the deep and often invisible connections between humans and non-human beings. This unprecedented collaboration will bring together artists such as Tacita Dean, Peggy Atherton, and Giuseppe Penone, confronting the question of our dependence on all forms of life. The exhibition is part of an urgent reflection on ecology and the way our existence is intrinsically linked to the production of air, food, and essential materials. Among the works, you will find photographs, videos, and objects that capture moments of contact and connection. ‘An Intimacy with Strangers’ is an invitation to rethink our place in the global ecosystem, through a rich and complex dialogue between the artists. The exhibition will run from March 22 to July 26, 2026.
