In 1964, Emilio Vedova, while a resident thanks to a Ford Foundation grant, left his mark in Berlin. The exhibition presented at the Berlinische Galerie highlights his monumental installation, “Absurdes Berliner Tagebuch ‘64”. Composed of asymmetrical wooden panels connected by hinges, this work is an invitation to deconstruction and spatial recomposition. Vedova, influenced by the upheavals of his time, created a dynamic structure capable of constantly transforming, thus reflecting the tensions and absurdities of the 20th century. This unique piece, the result of a year spent in West Berlin, testifies to a bold approach to abstraction and gestural expression. The exhibition is open from April 17 to September 14, 2026.
