What Still Holds - Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart
In March 2026, the Hamburger Bahnhof will present a monumental work: Shilpa Gupta’s “TRUTH” letter. This immersive installation, designed by Sam Bardaouil and Ulya Soylu, explores the complexity of language and its role in manipulating truth. The artist, based in Mumbai, uses a multidisciplinary approach – sculptures, videos, installations – to deconstruct the mechanisms of power and control that shape our perception of the world. The exhibition is a relevant dialogue with Joseph Beuys’s work, highlighting parallels on participation and social transformation. The work invites reflection on collective amnesia and how information is filtered and preserved. This exhibition, open from March 27, 2026 to January 3, 2027, is a unique opportunity to observe a bold and stimulating work, questioning the foundations of our reality.
