After-Images of a Golden Hour - Long Story Short
In 1997, Hong Kong remained in history as a cultural crossroads before coming under British administration. Artist Peter Hong-Tsun Chan revisits this poignant past with a new exhibition at Long Story Short, exploring the echoes of a bygone era. Through oil paintings, he presents scenes from films of the 1980s and 90s, captured in close-up compositions, as well as everyday objects such as food packaging and vintage televisions. Chan draws directly from his childhood in Hong Kong, creating a dialogue between the present and a nostalgic past. The exhibition features a collection of 13 works created on canvas, linen or paper. It’s a unique opportunity to appreciate the impact of local cinematic culture and iconic objects on individual memory. The exhibition is free.
