Anthony Falcetta: Understory

Anthony Falcetta invites to an immersion into the hidden layers of perception with “Understories.” The artist explores the notion of depth through abstractions where the surface reveals the creative process, drawing inspiration from the “understory” of forests – this complex and accumulated earth, like a giant parking lot or a building. His paintings, constructed with a variety of materials (acrylic, spray, gypsum), present striking contrasts of colors and textures, evoking natural and urban environments without ever reducing them to literal representations. This work was born from a search for structure, a desire to build rich and evolving surfaces, like a ground that develops gradually. The exhibition, presented by Kathryn Markel Fine Arts, is open from April 9th to May 16th, 2026. A fascinating exploration of the links between form, matter, and interpretation.
