Camille Norment: Untitled (Heliotrope) - Studio Museum in Harlem
In 2026, the Studio Museum in Harlem will present an immersive installation by Camille Norment, *Untitled (heliotrope)*, a work that dialogues with the history of migration through sculptural and sonic forms. The artist uses hand-fashioned copper tubes connected by woven wires, evoking both a pipe organ and a makeshift raft. This composition, created for the museum, explores the relationship between sound and space, drawing inspiration from algorithms that shape sonic composition. The installation, realized with the help of 4th State Metals, incorporates Feonic speakers to amplify the vibrations of the tubes. This work, initially designed for the museum, is free to access and offers a unique sensory experience, testifying to an innovative artistic collaboration and a reflection on journeys and identities.
