Echoes of Elsewhere

Honduras, a distant country, permeates the paintings of Sylvia Trotter Ewens. Born in this country and adopted as a child, Ewens explores the complexities of identity and memory through fragmented works. “Echoes of Elsewhere” presents a series of new paintings where images of Honduras blend with her mental constructions of life in Montreal, reflecting a profound sense of duality.
