Eric N. Mack: You Read The Shirt Off My Back

In 2026, Eric N. Mack continues his audacious exploration of materials, transforming textile into his primary pictorial medium. This exhibition at Paula Cooper Gallery marks his second collaboration with the gallery and presents a new collection of free-standing and mural paintings, enhanced by a reactive installation that responds to space. Mack, whose works have already been exhibited at the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the Wexner Center for the Arts, challenges traditional painting conventions. The exhibition, titled ‘You Red The Shirt Off My Back’, draws inspiration from an artist’s text, thus exploring the relationship between form and substance. This project is an invitation to contemplate a new approach to artistic creation. Admission is free.
